椰殼活性炭是一種多孔徑的炭化物，有著極其豐富的孔隙構造，具有很好的吸附性能。它的吸附作用是集物理及化學的吸咐力而成的，其外觀色澤呈黑色，其成份除了主要的炭以外，還包含了少量的氫、氮、氧，其結構則外形似以一個六邊形，由于不規則的六邊形結構，確定了其體枳及高表面積的特點，每克活性炭所具有的比表面相當于1000個平方米之多。

椰殼活性炭注意事項

1、活性炭在運輸過程中，防止與堅硬物質混狀，不可踩踏，以防炭粒破碎，影響質量。

2、儲存：應儲存于多孔型吸附劑，所以在運輸儲存和使用過程中，都要 防止水浸，因水浸后，大量水充滿活性空隙，使其失去作用。

3、防止焦油類物質：在使用過程中，應禁止焦油類物質帶入活性炭床，以免堵塞活性炭空隙，使其失去吸附作用， 有除焦設備凈化氣體。

4、防火：活性炭在儲存或運輸時，防止與火源直接接觸，以防著火、活性炭再生時避免進氧并再生徹底，再生后必須用蒸汽冷卻降至80以下，否則溫度高，遇氧，活性炭自燃。
